When to Apply

On November 1, 2017, the CMRAO will begin licensing condominium managers and condominium management providers (firms). You will have 90 days to submit your application. If CMRAO does not receive your application by January 29, 2018 you will not be able to continue legally providing condominium management services.

Individuals and condominium management providers (firms) that are providing condominium management services on and beyond November 1, will be required to apply for a licence between November 1, 2017 and January 29, 2018.

Individual condominium managers should apply for 1 of 3 licences:

1. General Licence
2. Transitional General Licence
3. Limited Licence

Condominium management firms will apply for a Condominium Management Provider Licence.

Once you have submitted your application, you will be able to continue providing condominium management services until the CMRAO has made a decision on your application.

Important Dates:

November 1, 2017: CMRAO website portal opens for licence applications.

January 29, 2018: last day for applications for a Condominium Manager Transitional General Licence.

January 30, 2018: as of this date, it will be illegal for any person or firm to provide condominium management services unless they have applied for or hold a condominium management licence.  Illegal condominium management practice may jeopardize future licence applications.

How to Apply

All licence applications will be submitted online through the CMRAO website. To submit an application, you will:

1. Collect the information you will need to complete the application
2. Create an account
3. Select the licence you wish to apply for
4. Complete the application form
5. Pay the application fee

Once the CMRAO has received your licence application, staff will review it to ensure that you meet the requirements for the licence.

If your application is approved, you will be instructed to login to the system to pay your annual licence fee.

After you pay your annual fee, CMRAO will email your licence to you. You can display your certificate of licence on a digital device or print it as a wallet card and wall certificate.

CMRAO will be posting specific information about licence application requirements prior to November 1, 2017.
