Condominium Management
Regulatory Authority of Ontario

History and Background

When the Condominium Management Services Act, 2015, came into effect on November 1, 2017, individuals who met specific requirements qualified for a General Licence. In addition to all other requirements, these individuals had:

  • provided condominium management services within the one year prior to November 1, 2017
  • provided condominium management services for two or more years within the five years prior to November 1, 2017
  • met the education requirements for a General Licence

Individuals who met the experience requirements, but did not meet the educational requirements, qualified for a Transitional General Licence, which would allow them to continue providing condominium management services while completing the educational requirements for a General Licence. Individuals had from November 1, 2017, to March 30, 2018, to apply for either a General Licence or Transitional General Licence.

Today, an individual must hold either a Limited Licence or Transitional General Licence before they can apply for a General Licence.
