LAT Decision Upholds Licence Revocation and Refusal in the Interest of Public Protection

On March 10, 2023, the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT) upheld a decision of the Registrar to refuse to issue a General Licence and to revoke the Limited Licence of a licensee.

In 2022, the CMRAO received a complaint about the conduct of a licensee, which made allegations about the licensee’s conduct as a condominium manager. On May 12, 2022, the Registrar issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke the Limited Licence and to refuse to issue a General Licence.

The decision of the Registrar was appealed to the LAT, which issued its decision on March 10, 2023.

The CMRAO treats complaints seriously and acts in the interest of consumer protection. Regulatory decisions are publicly available in the Consumer Protection section of the CMRAO website. Information about licensees and the status of each licence (including conditions and actions taken against a licensee) is available in the Public Registry.
