New Continuing Professional Education Program for General Licensees

New Continuing Professional Education Program for General Licensees

On November 15, 2022, the CMRAO released its new Continuing Professional Education (CPE) framework for condominium managers in Ontario.

Effective July 1, 2023, all General Licensees will be required to complete a mandatory CPE program as a requirement for the renewal of their licence.

Through the CPE program, the CMRAO will further strengthen the standards of the condominium management sector and enhance the competencies of General Licensees. The program will focus on an individual’s skill and knowledge needs, including technical and regulatory content, as well as the functional and professional skills covered in the Competency Profile for Condominium Managers in Ontario.

Annual completion of CPE requirements will ensure that General Licensees:

  • refresh and improve upon existing expertise
  • acquire new knowledge and skills
  • stay up to date with the latest legislation, best practices, and technology

General Licensees will be required to accumulate a minimum of ten CPE credits annually and report their completion through their user account on the CMRAO website.

The CPE program was developed to support the CMRAO’s mandate to strengthen the condominium management profession and protect consumers in Ontario’s expanding and complex condominium sector.
