Continuing Education Requirements for General Licensees in 2019

Continuing Education Requirements for General Licensees in 2019

In November 2018, the Minister of Government and Consumer Services announced new continuing education requirements for General Licensees who completed their education and examination requirements prior to November 1, 2017. These condo managers were required to successfully complete the continuing education program in order to renew their General Licence in 2019. Continuing education was a requirement for General Licensees as part of the 2019 licence renewal process.

Condo managers required to take the continuing education program would have completed their education requirements for a General Licence before courses were updated to reflect recent changes to Ontario’s condo laws. The new continuing education requirements were put in place to ensure that condo managers operating with a General Licence have up-to-date knowledge of recent condo law changes and understand their new obligations and responsibilities as licensed condo managers.

Please also retain any receipts or certificate of completion for your own records and have your licence number ready to provide to ACMO as part of the registration process.

There are a number of resources online that provide additional information about these continuing education requirements:

Successful regulation in the public interest involves ensuring that licensees meet a defined standard of education. The CMRAO has information on the education requirements for a General Licence, Limited Licence, or a Transitional General Licence.
