Education Requirements for a General Licence

In addition to all other requirements, in order to obtain a General Licence, individuals must successfully complete the following four courses developed by the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO):

  1. Condominium Law
  2. Physical Building Management
  3. Financial Planning for Condominium Managers
  4. Condominium Administration and Human Relations

Applicants who, prior to November 1, 2017, had five or more years’ experience in providing condominium management services, also have the option of taking any of the corresponding challenge exams in lieu of any individual course.

For more information about ACMO’s courses, please visit their website .

Education Requirements for a Limited Licence

While there are currently no education requirements for a Limited Licence, these individuals are required to work under the supervision of experienced condo managers who hold either a General Licence or a Transitional General Licence. There are also specific conditions on the activities that a Limited Licensee can perform. Once a Limited Licensee has completed their education and work experience requirements, they can progress to a General Licence.

Education Requirements for a Transitional General Licence

Transitional General Licensees have until June 30, 2021, to complete the educational requirements to obtain a General Licence.
